    Currie & Brown is looking to recruit a director – design management to work on various PMC projects in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

    • Leading all aspects of design control on major projects, masterplans, programmes and portfolios of works in the Middle East region
    • Ensuring design control and management services are provided in line with company best practice in the Middle East
    • Producing scope of services and deliverables for complete design requirements in line with standard delivery processes
    • Working with clients to produce design control and management processes, procedures and protocols aligned with specific developments, sectors, procurement routes and interfaces
    • Implementing feasibility studies and producing design briefs
    • Managing and overseeing all design management staff in the Middle East region
    • Participating in the formulation of bidding strategies in relation to design management, in order to assist in the winning of projects and programmes in the Middle East region
    • Acting as part of a project management and project leadership team

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Degree in a design-related field, such as architecture
    • A minimum of 20 years’ experience in major project and programmes and 5 years’ experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia
    • Accredited to a relevant professional body such as (RIBA, AIA)
    • An extensive portfolio of works across buildings, infrastructure, masterplans design formulation and key control principles
    • Excellent first-hand experience of dealing with Middle Eastern clients and stakeholders
    • Ability to simplify complex issues
    • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
